This is my first 3DO diagram so I hope I did everything correctly. It's a pretty simple model, all you need to do is increase and decrease on different rows. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!

this is imposible, you should not use glue for this, this is origami

I guess 3D origami is kind of a misnomer because traditional origami is supposed to use a single square sheet of paper without any cuts. But then a lot of things like modular origami and kusudamas that are held together by string and glue wouldn't count as origami either. The definition of origami is evolving and most people call this style of papercraft 3D origami but you can call it anything you want.

Sorry, I guess my diagram wasn't very clear about how to increase and decrease. To make this pokeball, you start with a base of 4 units, which is two rows of 4 units that are connected in a circle. Then you insert 1 piece between each of the 4 pieces on the second row, which will make the second row now have 8 pieces.

My pokeball actually starts the same way as jewellia7777's pokeball, so it would probably be more helpful to watch her tutorial first so you can actually see what's happening: [link]

Girnelis's 3DO tutorial also explains more about increasing and decreasing in general: [link]

Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck!

I wasn't sure if you still needed help with this, but to go from 16 to 20 pieces, you can just pick 4 places in the row to increase and put the rest of the pieces on normally. You should put 3 pieces on normally first and then increase on the next piece, and then put another 3 pieces normally and so on until you finish the row so you don't get a really lopsided ball. Also, I used glue for this model.

I'm looking forward to seeing it when you're done! I'm happy that you're asking questions so I can make my diagrams and explanations better in the future.

Hey, I kinda.. did something:)) well, afer the black row, I decreased as I increased, with 4 and so on. After the 2nd row with red I couldn't do anything because it didn't stick anymore. I guess I didn't do so well after all. I hope i can finish it if you could clear that out, maybe I did something that wasn't good. I would like to show you how it turned out so far

It seems like you've made a lot of progress!

I'm not sure if I know exactly what you're talking about, but maybe your problem is that you just have to keep going. When you start decreasing, you create spaces between the units and you have to force the next row on to try to close the gaps. I don't remember exactly but mine didn't actually start to look like a ball until maybe 3-4 rows before the end.

If you want, maybe you can upload what you have so far as a scrap and I can try to take a look at it.

Mine are sticking out and I can't actually force them. That's why I think I didn't do something quite good. Well, I cand send you a picture and have a look at it. Thank you for helping me:)
